The following tours are examples of what you will see and do, where you will go, what to expect and how to make the most of your unique and authentic Medieval Italian Excursion!!! Have a special request, or additional ideas, we are flexible and delighted to customize a tour for you and your group.

SIMPLY ROME….

SIMPLY ROME….

LAZIO, TUSCANY, UMBRIA, UNDISCOVERED HISTORY

DAY 1: Arrive Rome. Pick up & transport to hotel; Afternoon/Evening guided city tour; eat like a local- enjoy your authentic Italian Dinner.

DAY 2: Your choice guided tours: Vatican, Forum, Coloseum, Campidoglio. Tour Trastevere, Visit  a church built upon a pagan temple, Bone Museum. Finish day with a another delicious authentic meal.

Day 3:  Enjoy a bus tour of the coast on your way to your medieval experience. Tour the lost city of Castro. Settle into your accommodations, then join us for a local tour, wine and olive oil tasting, and of course another fantastic meal.

Day 4: Time for a Beach break in Porto Ercole or Santo Sefano or soak in the natural hot Sulphur springs of Saturnia or Vulci. Why not do both.  Dinner and tour in the medieval town of Pitigliano.

Day 5: Hike to and visit Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city. Then off to Bolsena for a medieval tour, visit the Castle and a 16th C Palazzo. Enjoy lunch in town or on the lake.  Maybe take in a Show at Teatro Boni in Acquapendente, another magnificent medieval village.

Day 6: Day trip to Assisi with guided city tour and visit Basilica of San Francesco and Santa Clara. Enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in front of the Duomo. Then off to Spello, city of flowers for some spectacular views and another short guided tour.

Day 7: Visit Medieval Tuscania, enjoy lunch, then off to Bagnaia & visit this ancient town and Villa Lante. Back to Ischia di Castro for a special dinner.

ARTISTIC ARTIFACT SPECIAL TOUR - SUMMER 2019

DAY 1: Arrive Rome. Pick up & transport to hotel; Afternoon/Evening guided city tour; eat like a local- enjoy your authentic Italian Dinner. (ARRIVE DAY OR TWO BEFORE CLASSES START)

DAY 2: Your choice guided tours: Vatican, Forum, Coloseum, Campidoglio. Tour Trastevere, Visit  a church built upon a pagan temple, Bone Museum. Finish day with a another delicious authentic meal. (DAY IN ROME)

Day 3:  Enjoy a bus tour of the coast on your way to your medieval experience. Tour the lost city of Castro. Settle into your accommodations, then join us for a local tour, wine and olive oil tasting, and of course another fantastic meal. (CLASSES WITH JUDY GULA WOULD START THIS AFTERNOON IN ISCHIA DI CASTRO)

Day 4: After your morning craft workshop, Time for a Beach break in Porto Ercole or Santo Sefano or soak in the natural hot Sulphur springs of Saturnia or Vulci. Why not do both.  Dinner and tour in the medieval town of Pitigliano.

Day 5: Morning crafting with Judy, then off to hike and visit Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city. After, Bolsena for a medieval city tour, local shopping, visit the Castle and a 16th C Palazzo. Enjoy lunch in town or on the lake.  Maybe take in a Show at Teatro Boni in Acquapendente, another nearby historic medieval village.

Day 6: Day trip to Assisi with guided city tour and visit Basilica of San Francesco and Santa Clara. Enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in front of the Duomo. A special excursion to the town of Fabriano, where the most exclusive paper is produced. Try your hand at paper making in the museum. If time permits, stop in Spello, city of flowers for some spectacular views, a short guided tour, and a bite.

Day 7: Visit Medieval Tuscania, enjoy lunch, then off to Bagnaia & visit this medieval town and Villa Lante. Back to Ischia di Castro for a special dinner.

Day 8 and beyond: Depending upon level of interest, Judy will be interested in continuing with classes and additional excursions. We’ll be here, so let us know if you’d like to stay and what else you might like to do and see.

DAY 2: Your choice guided tours: Vatican, Forum, Coloseum, Campidoglio. Tour Trastevere, Visit  a church built upon a pagan temple, Bone Museum. Finish day with a another delicious authentic meal. Meet and Greet

Day 3:  Enjoy a bus tour of the coast on your way to your medieval experience. Hike the lost city of Castro. Settle into your accommodations, A brief walk down the mountain to see the Santuary of the Madonna del Giglio. Then enjoy a local tour, wine and olive oil tasting, and of course another fantastic meal.

Day 4: Time for a Beach break in Porto Ercole or Santo Sefano or soak in the natural hot Sulphur springs of Saturnia or Hike the Etruscan rich Parco di Vulci. Why not do both.  Dinner and tour in the medieval town of Pitigliano.

Day 5: Hike to and visit Bagnoregio, the dying city. Then off to Bolsena, walk up to the castle and down the the lake. Take a medieval tour. Enjoy lunch in town or on the lake.  Maybe take in a Show at Teatro Boni in Acquapendente, or a “spectacolo” in Ischia di Castro, Valentano, or Montalto.

Day 6: Day trip to Assisi with guided city tour and visit Basilica of San Francesco and Santa Clara. Hike and tour Perusia and Spello, city of flowers, for some spectacular views and another short guided tour.

Day 7: Visit Medieval Tuscania, enjoy lunch, then off to Bagnaia & visit this medieval town and Villa Lante. Back to Ischia di Castro for a special dinner. Alternatively, visit the spectacular museum and Necropoli of Tarquinia- the largest collection anywhere!!
